“Vệt - Hồn Việt trong tim mẹ”: A Journey of Emotion and Talent by HUTECH students

On January 10, the event “Vệt - Hồn Việt trong tim mẹ” (“Vệt - The Soul of Vietnam in a Mother’s Heart”), organized by students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Faculty of Marketing – International Business at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), was more than a cultural performance - it was a profound journey that explored and celebrated deep humanitarian values, leaving a lasting emotional impression on the audience.
The event “Vệt - Hồn Việt trong tim mẹ” was presented on an impressive stage
Inspired by their love for the nation, HUTECH students created “Vệt - Hồn Việt trong tim mẹ” as a sincere artistic tribute to their motherland. Through a series of poignant and artistically rich performances, the program served as a meaningful bridge, connecting the younger generation with the nation's enduring cultural values, most notably by honoring Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and the generations that came before.

The event was known to be the final project for the students’ “Event Planning” course. To bring the program to life, the students engaged in a diligent and creative process - ranging from ideation, scriptwriting, and music selection to stage design. Every element was meticulously executed with a high level of professionalism.

The program featured impressive performances in singing, dancing, and drama,
all of which vividly reflected the nation’s cherished traditional values
The program opened with the emotionally evocative song “Đất nước lời ru” (“The Land in a Lullaby”), gently guiding the audience back to the serenity of childhood - where a mother’s warm embrace and lullabies carried the spirit of patriotism. Following this, the play “Tiếng trống báo hiệu” (“The Sounding Drum”) continued the narrative, vividly recreating the image of a traditional Vietnamese village and its enduring cultural values.

A highlight of the program was a series of emotionally resonant songs about motherhood, featuring heartfelt melodies such as “Huyền thoại mẹ” (“Mother’s Legend”), “Lòng mẹ” (“A Mother’s Love”), “Mẹ yêu con” (“Mother Loves You”), “Bát cơm mặn” (“A Bowl of Salted Rice”), “Ước mơ của mẹ” (“A Mother’s Dream”), “Chưa bao giờ mẹ kể” (“Never Told by Mother”), and “Bao lời con chưa nói” (“The Words Left Unsaid”). Each song evoked a wide range of emotions in the audience - not only expressing the profound love of a child for their mother but also affirming the dreams and aspirations of the younger generation.
This hands-on experience not only allowed students to gain practical skills,
but also served as valuable preparation for their future careers
The program was not only an artistic performance, but also a space for students to connect and engage with one another. Through the event, they had the opportunity to develop essential skills such as teamwork, event organization, and creative thinking. At the same time, it served as a bridge between students and the wider community, reflecting the younger generation’s sense of social responsibility.
