CEO Nguyen Quoc Ky and His Story of Dream-Chasing with HUTECH Students

On June 6, students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) had the opportunity to meet and learn valuable success insights from Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky – Chairman of the Board and CEO of Vietravel Corporation, during the CEO Talk titled "Pioneering Breakthroughs – Pursuing Dreams." The event was organized by the Center for Business Cooperation, in collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management.

With nearly 30 years of experience spanning from public service to the development of a private enterprise, guest speaker Nguyễn Quốc Kỳ shared a wealth of valuable insights with students on their journey of connecting knowledge with real-world experiences to achieve success. According to him, the key to staying ahead is to never be easily satisfied—to always embrace change and continuously reinvent yourself. “Only by doing so will we avoid becoming outdated, falling behind, or being forgotten,” he emphasized.

The speaker thoughtfully addressed students’ concerns related to entrepreneurship, brand building, and career opportunities. In response to the question “Can Marketing graduates work in the Tourism industry?”, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky emphasized that promotion, communication, and marketing play a vital role in the success of any product—including in the tourism sector. “Tourism is no exception. The key is how to attract travelers. Marketing is not distant from tourism—in fact, it complements it by providing more effective ways to promote tourism products,” he affirmed.

The Chairman of Vietravel also revealed key strategies to students on how to take the lead in creating sustainable value in the Tourism & Travel industry, especially in the context of reviving and growing a business post-COVID-19. According to him, Vietravel is focusing on developing an entirely new model based on a strategic vision of Green Tourism – Green Economy – Green Development, with a particular emphasis on applying artificial intelligence (AI) in business operations and customer data management.
