The 10th anniversary of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management became even more special and meaningful as the Faculty and its lecturers received proud and joyful news from one of its outstanding alumni – Ngo Dinh Minh Quang, a former student of class 17DLHA2.He has just won Third Prize at the ShiftIn' 2024 competition held in Switzerland.
ShiftIn' is an important annual platform in the hospitality industry, designed to promote innovation and transformation toward a sustainable present and future. The competition attracts outstanding speakers and researchers from leading academic institutions around the world and focuses on exploring the hospitality industry and applying cutting-edge technologies to enhance service quality and guest satisfaction.
ShiftIn' 2024 is a competition organized by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in collaboration with Oceanic Global—two leading organizations in the fields of hospitality and environmental sustainability. In this competition, top hotels present real-world scenarios and operational challenges, and contestants are required to propose creative and practical solutions to address them. Teams with innovative, feasible ideas that closely align with the competition’s theme will have the opportunity to implement their solutions directly at the partnering hotels.
Among the eight topics presented by the judging panel, the team of alumnus Ngo Dinh Minh Quang chose to tackle the theme of Carbon Neutral – Net Zero and impressively secured Third Prize in the competition. This achievement is not only a personal triumph for him and his teammates, but also a meaningful and pride-filled gift to all lecturers of the Faculty, in celebration of its 10th anniversary. It stands as a powerful testament to the excellence and capabilities of students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management.
