Demonstrating confidence, determination, and a genuine passion for the Korean language and culture, students majoring in Korean Language from the Faculty of Korean Studies at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) achieved outstanding success by winning four awards at the 2nd Inter-University Korean Speech Contest for the 2025–2026 academic year.
With the theme "Culture and Connection: Connecting the World through Korea, Connecting Cultures through Us," the contest provided a meaningful academic platform where students could showcase their Korean language proficiency, creative thinking, and perspectives on cultural exchange in an increasingly interconnected world.
In the Korean Speech category, fourth-year student Nguyen Thi Phuong won Third Prize with her speech titled "The Role of Youth in International Cultural Exchange." Her presentation was inspired by her academic journey and participation in Korean cultural activities, including the Hangeul Festival, traditional Korean fan dance performances, and Korean language competitions.

Phuong's speech delivered a meaningful message to young people about the importance of embracing global integration while preserving their cultural identity. She emphasized that true international integration is achieved when individuals actively learn from the richness of other cultures while continuing to preserve and promote their own national heritage. An open-minded attitude toward learning, combined with respect for one's roots and appreciation for cultural diversity, helps build lasting bridges of international cultural exchange.

While the speech competition conveyed powerful messages through spoken words, the Korean Calligraphy category highlighted artistic expression. First-year student Nguyen Duong Khang and second-year students Pham Thi Bich Ngoc and Le Ngoc Phuong Trinh each received Consolation Prizes for their meaningful calligraphy works inspired by the competition's theme.
Through their artwork, the students expressed the belief that language is not merely a tool for communication but also a bridge that fosters mutual understanding between people and cultures. Their pieces conveyed messages about connecting hearts through the Korean language, bringing the world together through culture, and strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and South Korea. Together, they reflected the conviction that when language and culture go hand in hand, differences become opportunities for sharing, learning, and building a more connected future in an era of global integration.

These immersive experiences allowed students to gain a deeper appreciation of Korean culture while practicing their Korean communication skills in authentic settings, enriching their knowledge and further strengthening their global competencies.
