Commencement of HUTECH Hi-Tech Institute Project

At 08:00 in the morning of August 26th, 2014, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) solemnly held the Commencement Ceremony for HUTECH Hi-Tech Institute Project at Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) – District 9 in the witnesses of Heads of City’s Governor, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Science and Technology and Board of Directors of Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP).
With the investment of 500 billion VND, HUTECH Hi-Tech Institute possesses a total area of 46,111.1 square meters, located at Block E2b.4, D1 Street, Science Space Subdivision of SHTP. This location is known to be a concentrating area of Research and Developing projects, Training and Incubation, which is also considered "the heart of SHTP”.

Perspective of Building A in 2015
The construction includes 4 blocks with the gross floor area of 102,964.00 square meters in which: Block A – 8 floors, floor area of 17,440 square meters; Block B – 12 floors, floor area of 59,254 square meters; Block C – 8 floors, floor area of 17,440 square meters; and Block D – 6 floors, floor area of 8,910 square meters, to be constructed under installment and implemented in 3 phases. In the first phase, Block A is to be commenced and built from now until year end of 2015. At the accomplishment of the first phase, other blocks will be constructed and operated around the beginning of 2018.

HUTECH Hi-tech Institute has become a core district that attracts numbers of professors, lecturers and students to work, study and initiate basic and applied researches in order to enable technological development and create competitiveness for Vietnam products in international market. The strategic objects has been indicated including (1) Research and initiate applied high technologies for Information Technology, Bio-technology, Automation Technology, New Energy and Renewable Energy Technology; (2) Test outputs from experiments; (3) Consult transferring research results and scientific and technological information as well as professionally train labors in fields of Information Technology, Bio-technology, Automation Technology, New Energy and Renewable Energy Technology; (4) Co-operate in researching and transferring technologies between domestic and international enterprises and businesses; (5) Provide graduate training (Doctorate and Master Levels) regarding fields as mentioned above.

In addition, the fact that HUTECH Hi-tech Institute is openly operated enables it becoming a promising address for investing, co-operating in researching and transferring technologies as well as holding research projects led by scientists around the world. It is also an institution where top experts research, give lecture, create hi-tech and hi-tech business as well as recruit advanced technologies for Vietnam.
