HUTECH confers Honorary Doctorate on Mr. Fujishima Yasuyuki, Co-founder and Senior Advisor of VJIT

On November 30, during the graduation ceremony for the Vietnam-Japan Program at the Vietnam-Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) awarded an Honorary Doctorate to Mr. Fujishima Yasuyuki, Co-founder and Senior Advisor of VJIT. This prestigious honor recognizes his outstanding contributions to the university's educational initiatives, particularly to the Vietnam-Japan Program.

Mr. Fujishima Yasuyuki, a graduate in Law from the University of Tokyo (Japan), has held numerous prominent positions across various organizations. These include roles at the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry; serving as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Panama; Vice President of Sojitz Corporation (Japan); and President of the Human Resources Development & Employment Organization (HuReDee) in Japan.
Since 2014, Mr. Fujishima Yasuyuki has served as a founding member and Senior Advisor of the Vietnam-Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT) at HUTECH. He also acts as an advisor to the HuReDee organization, fostering connections between highly skilled Vietnamese professionals, including VJIT students, and Japanese companies. His efforts have been instrumental in encouraging businesses to support the Joint Research Fund, which finances free Japanese language courses for HUTECH students aspiring to work in Japan and offers scholarships for VJIT students to study there. During the 2021 COVID-19 pandemic, he worked closely with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to ensure VJIT student groups could efficiently complete the procedures required to return home.

Mr. Fujishima Yasuyuki has played a pivotal role in founding and advancing the Vietnam-Japan Program at HUTECH, providing students with access to cutting-edge Japanese educational programs while elevating HUTECH’s reputation both within Vietnam’s education system and on the international stage. In acknowledgment of his outstanding contributions, the university has conferred upon him an Honorary Doctorate.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ono Masuo, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, along with distinguished guests from government agencies, associations, organizations, and Japanese unions. Representing HUTECH were Prof. Dr. Sc. Ho Dac Loc, President; Prof. Dr. Le Van Canh, Vice President; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Vice President; Dr. Bui Van The Vinh, Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Director of VJIT; Dr. Ha Minh Tuan, Vice Director of VJIT; along with leaders from other departments.
