HUTECH engages with Universitas Nasional (Indonesia), opening up new directions for academic collaboration

Recently, the Department of International Relations and Project Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a working session with Universitas Nasional (UNAS, Indonesia) to exchange views on development vision and explore collaboration opportunities in the context of global education integration.

The partner delegation included seven senior leaders led by Prof. Dr. Suryono Effendi, Vice Rector, along with sixteen doctoral candidates from the Faculty of Economics and Business

At the meeting, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President of the University, provided an overview of HUTECH and emphasized its comprehensive internationalization strategy. In line with this direction, HUTECH continues to expand its international partnerships to offer students greater access to global learning environments, enrich multicultural experiences, and strengthen their ability to integrate internationally.

With regard to Indonesian partners, the University has been actively promoting a range of practical initiatives. These include plans to host Indonesian faculty members for research activities at the Faculty of Information Technology, as well as welcoming UNAS students for study, exchange, and experiential learning at HUTECH.

From the partner side, the UNAS delegation expressed strong impressions of HUTECH’s dynamic learning environment, modern facilities, and diverse international engagement ecosystem. The delegation also showed clear interest in advancing collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in research, faculty exchange, and curriculum development.

The two universities discussed and agreed on several directions for future cooperation
 
Through open and constructive discussions, both sides reached a consensus on several potential areas of collaboration, including the implementation of short-term student exchange initiatives, co-organization of international conferences and seminars, promotion of faculty exchange through visiting lecturer arrangements, expansion of doctoral research exchange opportunities, and deeper engagement through the IRN Forum, an international academic platform co-organized by HUTECH and Tongmyong University of Korea. These initiatives are expected to strengthen academic connections, facilitate the sharing of teaching and research experiences, and create more cross border learning opportunities for students at both institutions.

The UNAS delegation toured HUTECH’s facilities
 
Following the meeting, the UNAS delegation visited HUTECH’s facilities to gain further insight into the University’s learning environment and academic conditions. This activity provided the delegation with a more comprehensive and practical understanding of HUTECH’s training capacity, infrastructure, and development orientation in the process of international integration.
 
Universitas Nasional (UNAS) is a private university established in 1949 in Indonesia. It currently comprises nine faculties and one graduate school. The University has strengths in economics and business, social sciences, and biology, and maintains an extensive network of partnerships with government agencies, universities, enterprises, international organizations, and NGOs in education, research, and community engagement. In addition, it offers international students, faculty, and researchers opportunities to gain deeper insights into Indonesia’s economic, social, and cultural landscape within a diverse and globally integrated academic environment.
