The recent meeting between the Department of International Relations and Project Management at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and PMX Malaysia has opened up a promising new direction for international collaboration in the engineering field.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President of the University, extended a warm welcome and expressed appreciation to Ms. Koh Bee Ching, Vice Consul (Education) at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City, for her active support in connecting HUTECH with potential partners in Malaysia. This collaboration plays a meaningful role in expanding the University’s international network while creating more opportunities for faculty and students to access learning, professional development, and career advancement.

At the session, representatives from PMX Malaysia introduced an overview of the company, which was established in 2022 and specializes in providing leading data center design and construction solutions in Malaysia. As this sector continues to grow rapidly in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia, the demand for high quality engineering talent is increasing. The company expressed strong interest in young talent from Vietnam and recognized the potential for collaboration with HUTECH based on its strengths in engineering education.

One of the key highlights of the meeting was the introduction of the PMX ASEAN Graduate Talent Program, designed for engineering graduates across the ASEAN region. The program lasts from six to twelve months and is structured around a comprehensive journey from onboarding to training and hands-on practice.

Participants will begin by familiarizing themselves with the company’s culture, working environment, and systems, followed by specialized training aligned with project activities. They will then directly engage in real projects under the guidance of experts. With a strong emphasis on learning through practice, the program offers valuable opportunities to develop professional expertise, workplace skills, and adaptability in an international environment.

During the meeting, both sides also proposed several concrete next steps, including PMX Malaysia’s participation in HUTECH Job Fair 2026, expected to take place in May 2026, to introduce the program and recruit potential candidates. They also discussed plans to move forward with signing a Memorandum of Understanding and organizing talk shows and specialized seminars on the data center industry, global career trends, and essential skills for students.
