On July 1, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) welcomed a delegation from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU, Russia) for a meeting to discuss potential collaboration in education, scientific research, and international academic engagement in the field of Information Technology.
HUTECH representatives at the meeting
Representing SPbPU were Assoc. Prof. Vyacheslav V. Potekhin, Head of the School of Cyber Physical Systems, along with members of the delegation
During the meeting, HUTECH provided an overview of its academic scale, strategic development priorities, and ongoing international collaboration initiatives. As digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and intelligent systems continue to play an increasingly important role, the University aims to expand partnerships with leading technical universities to strengthen academic, research, and professional collaboration in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
HUTECH shared its vision for expanding collaboration in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence
SPbPU introduced its School of Cyber Physical Systems, a faculty recognized for its strengths in digital technologies, intelligent systems, artificial intelligence, and technologies that support digital transformation. These areas align closely with the priorities identified by both universities for future collaboration in education and research.
During the meeting, SPbPU also introduced the Open Doors Scholarship, an international scholarship initiative jointly organized by the Association of Global Universities in Russia. The program is designed for outstanding students worldwide who wish to pursue postgraduate studies and conduct research in Russia, offering HUTECH students an additional pathway to explore international academic and research opportunities.
SPbPU introduced opportunities for academic collaboration, research, and international scholarships during the meeting
Discussions between HUTECH and SPbPU focused on four key areas of collaboration: organizing online seminars for faculty members and students from HUTECH's Faculty of Information Technology, sharing information about international competitions hosted by both universities, promoting joint research and scientific publications, and working toward the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Among these initiatives, the online seminars are expected to serve as a flexible platform for academic exchange, allowing faculty members and students to explore advanced topics in digital technologies, artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, and digital transformation. Sharing information about international competitions will also provide students with valuable opportunities to tackle real-world technology challenges while strengthening their ability to work in multicultural academic environments.
The two universities aim to sign an MoU covering education, research, and international academic exchange
The topics discussed during the meeting will continue to be reviewed and further developed as both institutions work toward signing an MoU in the near future. This marks the beginning of a partnership through which HUTECH and SPbPU aim to expand collaboration in education, scientific research, and international academic exchange, particularly in high growth technology fields.
