Faculty of Finance and Commerce honors over 800 outstanding students for the first semester of the 2023–2024 academic year

On May 15, the Faculty of Finance and Commerce at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a Recognition Ceremony to honor 810 outstanding students for their achievements in the first semester of the 2023–2024 academic year. The event celebrated individual efforts and academic excellence while also offering guidance and motivation for students to pursue the “Five-Good Student” model.
The ceremony took place at the Saigon Campus
The event was attended by Dr. Kieu Tuan – Secretary of the Party Committee and Permanent Member of the University Council; Dr. Huynh Ngoc Anh – Vice President of HUTECH; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung – Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Commerce; Dr. Le Duc Thang – Vice Dean; Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung – Vice Dean; Mr. Do Tran Thanh – Vice Head of the Student Affairs Office; Mr. Vo Xuan Dat – Secretary of the Youth Union; and Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Anh – Member of the Standing Committee and President of the Student Association.
In his speech, Dr. Huynh Ngoc Anh praised the ongoing commitment and determination of the faculty, staff, and students, "The Faculty of Finance and Commerce is a leading unit in student engagement across the university. Its activities are consistently creative and practical, helping students improve themselves and grow in multiple dimensions".

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung presented a summary of the faculty’s achievements in extracurricular activities and outlined future plans to strengthen engagement and student development. He encouraged students to continue building on their successes.

A highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of 810 students for their excellence in academics and extracurricular involvement. Students were honored under three categories: Students with a perfect GPA of 4.0; students with a GPA above 3.2 out of 4.0; and students with outstanding performance in the HUTECH GAMES 2024.

Representing the awardees, Nguyen Thi Cam Tu – Vice Secretary of the Faculty Youth Union and a recipient of the City-level Five-Good Student title in 2023 – shared her experience in effective studying and self-development. She encouraged fellow students to manage their time wisely, build expertise, and sharpen their skills to unlock their full potential.

As part of the event, the talk show “Five-Good Students – The Journey to Recognition and Growth” featured insightful discussions from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung; Ms. Pham Kha Vy – Faculty Lecturer and three-time recipient of the Central-level Five-Good Student title; Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Anh; and Mr. Pham Viet Huy – two-time recipient of the City and Central-level titles. Speakers offered practical advice and motivation to support students on their path toward this prestigious achievement.
