Scholarships, joint academic programs, and paid internships in Canada were the focus of an October 30 meeting between Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and Canada’s Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). The two institutions discussed ways to give students more opportunities to study abroad and gain international experience.
Building on their first meeting on June 25, 2026, representatives from both institutions discussed the Canada SEED-2 scholarship program in greater detail ahead of the 2027–2028 application cycle. They focused on identifying priority fields of study, determining how students would receive academic guidance and supervision, and clarifying each institution’s responsibilities in administering the program.

HUTECH and NSCC also explored the possibility of offering joint transnational education (TNE) programs in information technology, hospitality and tourism management, and health and medical sciences. They also discussed paid internships in Canada for hospitality and tourism management students. These placements would give students a chance to develop their skills, gain hands-on experience, and prepare to work in an international job market.

Building on these shared priorities, HUTECH and NSCC continued their discussions and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new step in their partnership. NSCC also invited HUTECH representatives to visit Canada for further discussions on how the two institutions can put their plans into practice.
