On May 14, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a meeting with Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS, Indonesia) to further advance international cooperation initiatives following the positive engagements between the two institutions in recent years.
The meeting followed a week-long working visit by a HUTECH delegation to ITS, demonstrating the commitment of both universities to transforming their memorandum of understanding into meaningful collaborative activities. Building on the MoU signed on November 4, 2025, during the QS Higher Education Summit: Asia Pacific 2025 in South Korea, HUTECH and ITS have been steadily expanding opportunities for academic exchange, cultural engagement, and international capacity development for students.

International cooperation continues to be prioritized to enhance students’ learning experiences
During the meeting, HUTECH proposed hosting ITS faculty members and staff through a one-week short term exchange program. This initiative aims to strengthen professional interaction and facilitate the sharing of experiences in teaching, research, and educational management. It also creates opportunities for both institutions to gain insights into different academic perspectives, university operations, and educational approaches.

Another key topic of discussion was the potential implementation of a Semester Exchange program for students. This initiative would provide valuable opportunities for young people to experience an international learning environment, explore new educational approaches, improve their language proficiency, strengthen their adaptability, and build connections with peers from around the world.
In the area of international internships, both sides also discussed the possibility of jointly implementing internship opportunities for students. In particular, Mr. Wahyu Islami Pratama Maoundu, Manager for the CommTECH and Mobility Program, introduced the “Let’s Study Abroad (LSA)” program. Conducted online on a monthly basis, the program brings together three partner universities to showcase their learning environments, academic offerings, and signature activities to international students. ITS expressed its interest in welcoming HUTECH to participate in the program in the near future as a way to further strengthen student engagement and interaction between the two institutions.

These new directions for collaboration are expected to contribute to a more multicultural learning environment at HUTECH in the future
In addition to LSA, ITS introduced several other notable mobility initiatives, including CommTECH Camp and the Global Learning Series, which are designed for international students and faculty members. These programs promote academic exchange, cultural understanding, and enriched international learning experiences. Representatives from ITS expressed their hope that HUTECH will continue participating in future initiatives, creating more opportunities for the University's faculty, staff, and students to develop global competencies and broaden their international exposure.
