HUTECH signs MoU with Chang Gung University, expanding cooperation in health education and research

On August 18, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and Chang Gung University (Taiwan, China) held a working session and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), opening up new directions for cooperation such as student and faculty exchange, hospital-based training, doctoral education, and research on AI applications in medicine.
HUTECH and Chang Gung University aim for practical cooperation programs in medicine
During the session, HUTECH representatives introduced the university’s 31-year journey of development with more than 60 academic programs across various disciplines. Within this system, the School of Medicine and Health Sciences continues to expand health-related majors and is preparing to welcome the first cohort of medical students in the 2026–2027 academic year.
HUTECH’s educational orientation emphasizes the integration of professional knowledge with practice, strengthening the use of modern technology and equipment so learners can quickly adapt to professional and clinical environments. Alongside the medical doctor program that complies with current regulations, English-taught courses are also being implemented to enhance access to international medical knowledge.

Both institutions discuss future cooperation directions
Based on each side’s strengths and development goals, HUTECH and Chang Gung University discussed student and faculty exchange. Beyond academic programs, both universities are interested in Global Camps and hospital-based study and internship opportunities. These initiatives can immerse learners and faculty in diverse professional environments, expanding academic exchange in health sciences.

At the postgraduate level, the two universities explored opportunities for doctoral education for doctors and young lecturers, thereby extending cooperation into high-level human resource development and advanced research in health sciences.

The MoU promises to bring many opportunities for learning and professional experience to students and faculty
Both universities also identified research on AI applications in medicine as a promising area of cooperation, while discussing the possibility of implementing community service (USR) activities with hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, linking research and expertise with real-world healthcare practice.
