HUTECH and Sheffield Hallam University (UK) become official partners

On November 12th, 2018, Sheffield Hallam University – United Kingdom (SHU) has visited Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) to hold a meeting to recognize HUTECH as an official partner of SHU in the cooperative Automotive Engineering training program.
Leading to this official partnership, the two Universities have had much exchange in the past year, during which SHU has sent many delegates to HUTECH to survey HUTECH’s quality asurrance system, facilities, and to meet HUTECH lecturers and students.
Participating the meeting were many leaders representing the two universities. From SHU, there were Mr. Leopold Green, Head of Academic Quality and Standards; Ms. Lisa Reidy, Head of International Recruitment, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities; Ms. Harriet Travis, Assistant Head of Academic Quality and Standards; Prof. Terrence Perera, Head of International Partnerships and Development, Faculty of Science, Technology and Arts; Prof. Nasser Sherkat, Head of Department - Engineering and Mathematics, Faculty of Science, Technology and Arts.
Representing HUTECH were Assoc. Prof. Bui Xuan Lam – Vice president; Dr. Pham Thi Hai Quynh – Director of Hutech Institute of International Education; MSc. Nguyen Lan Huong – Vice-director of Hutech Institute of International Education; MSc. Le Thi ngoc Thao – Head of Academic Affairs Office; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung – Vice-director of Institute of Engineering; Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nhan – Vice-director of Institute of Engineering; Dr. Nguyen Phu Thuong Luu – Lecturer of Institute of Engineering and Mr. Hoang Ngoc Tuan – Director of Library.

Before evaluating and declaring HUTECH as offical partner, the SHU delegate had a tour to inspect the facility, teaching and practicing environment at HUTECH campuses. They also highly regard the Automotive Engineering lecturer force, and especially the quality assurance system and student support of HUTECH.
The SHU delegate had a tour to the advanced and modern facilities of HUTECH at the main campus and HUTECH Human Recources Training Center
Through exchanging, both universities emphasised the great importance and significance of the cooperation. Thereby, SHU announced HUTECH as their official partner in the cooperative training program in Automotive Engineering. The first enrollment for this “3 + 1” training program is scheduled for 2019. The students of this program will have the frist 03 years at HUTECH and the 4th year with SHU’s training program and lecturers, where they have the choice of studying in Vietnam or in the United Kingdoms.
