On May 6, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a working session with representatives from the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), Australia, to discuss directions for implementing international education partnerships and expanding cooperation in education and research.
During the meeting, the UniSQ representatives provided an overview of the university’s strengths in education and research, notably in engineering, information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and space research. UniSQ is also actively developing other key disciplines, including environmental studies, agriculture, business, and particularly English language teaching (TESOL). A notable highlight is that UniSQ is among the few Australian universities offering specialized programs in aviation.

Building on the previously signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), HUTECH proposed moving forward with a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to formalize specific areas of collaboration. The immediate priority is to align the academic programs of both institutions to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of joint programs, ensuring compliance with mutual regulations.

In addition to educational cooperation, both sides recognized significant potential in scientific research. HUTECH and UniSQ agreed to enhance information exchange to assess research capabilities, resources, and potential topics. This is an essential step toward developing joint research projects in the future, particularly in technology, high-tech agriculture, environmental science, and AI.
The session marked a significant step forward in the internationalization of education between the two institutions
The working session with UniSQ reflects HUTECH’s efforts to advance educational internationalization and opened up new opportunities for collaboration between two universities that share a strong commitment to applied research and innovation.
