HUTECH delegation visits Germany to strengthen research collaboration with Ruhr-Universität Bochum

As part of a collaborative research project funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, one of the most prestigious scientific funding organizations under the German government, a delegation of researchers and academic staff from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) conducted a working visit to Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB), Germany, in early June 2025.

Led by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hung, Director of the CIRTech Institute, and Dr. Hoang Ngoc Nhung, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, the delegation also included researchers and specialists from CIRTech. The visit not only enhanced academic exchange but also marked a key step forward in the strategic partnership between HUTECH and RUB, one of the leading public research universities in Germany and Europe.

A highlight of the visit was the delegation’s participation in the international scientific workshop “Joint Workshop on Topology Optimization”, held at RUB from June 5–6. This high-level academic forum brought together leading global scientists in topology optimization, computational mechanics, and advanced engineering. Through this event, HUTECH’s delegates gained exposure to cutting-edge research trends, engaged in in-depth technical discussions, and presented preliminary outcomes from the ongoing joint research project.

In addition to the workshop, the HUTECH delegation held multiple working sessions with research teams at RUB. Both sides discussed the progress of their joint research project, which focuses on simulating bio-inspired structures for applications in renewable energy. This highly interdisciplinary project integrates AI technology, 3D printing, computational software, and advanced monitoring systems, and is expected to deliver impactful scientific results with real-world applications.

The delegation also received a warm welcome from RUB and toured its laboratories and modern research centers. These visits facilitated valuable exchanges on the management and operation of research infrastructure, which are essential to building a sustainable, internationally recognized research university.
