Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) has officially established the HUTECH School of Engineering through the restructuring of the HUTECH Institute of Engineering, marking a new stage in the University’s organization and development of its engineering and technology disciplines.

The establishment of the HUTECH School of Engineering was carried out in accordance with the 2025 Law on Higher Education, Government Decree No. 91/2026/ND-CP, the Regulations on the Organization and Operation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and other relevant legal regulations.
Strengthening connections across engineering and technology disciplines
The HUTECH School of Engineering is a constituent school of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, established to strengthen connections and leverage the strengths of engineering and technology disciplines in education, scientific research, innovation, and industry collaboration.
Alongside the establishment of the HUTECH School of Engineering, the University has consolidated the academic units within the engineering cluster, including the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Faculty of Automotive Technology, and Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

The HUTECH School of Engineering takes the lead in coordinating the activities of the faculties within the engineering cluster as assigned by the University, ensuring a unified development direction and enhancing coordination among academic units.
This model enables the faculties to continue building on their individual strengths while expanding opportunities for collaboration, resource sharing, and interdisciplinary activities in education, scientific research, innovation, technology transfer, and industry collaboration.

HUTECH has appointed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, as Rector of the HUTECH School of Engineering.

In this role, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong will directly oversee the HUTECH School of Engineering while managing, coordinating, and guiding the activities of the faculties within the engineering cluster as assigned by the University.

This organizational structure brings different academic disciplines together under a shared development direction while enabling more effective coordination and utilization of faculty expertise, facilities, and academic resources. As a result, each faculty can maintain its distinct academic strengths while enhancing collaboration in interdisciplinary programs and activities.
