HUTECH connects with IIT Gandhinagar (India) in Media and Design Education

With the aim of strengthening international connections in media and design education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held an academic exchange with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar, India), opening up further opportunities for collaboration for faculty members and students from both institutions.

At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Head of the Department of International Relations and Project Management, provided an overview of HUTECH and its Faculty of Media and Design. Building on previous connections, HUTECH proposed several areas for collaboration, including faculty and student exchanges in media, design, and related fields, as well as capacity building activities through knowledge sharing, workshops, seminars, and academic programmes.

Representing IIT Gandhinagar, Prof. Praveen Nahar, Head of the Department of Design, introduced the department's educational approach. Its programmes emphasise an interdisciplinary learning environment that combines studio based learning with systems thinking. IIT Gandhinagar places particular emphasis on hands on practice, experimentation, curriculum flexibility, and interaction between faculty members and students.

The two institutions agree to advance collaboration and expand academic exchange activities in the coming period
Building on the discussions, the two institutions agreed to continue exploring suitable areas for collaboration. As a next step, HUTECH plans to invite Prof. Praveen Nahar and experts from IIT Gandhinagar to participate as speakers in the HUTECH Online Expert Talk Series. The initiative is expected to create further opportunities for professional and academic exchange among experts, faculty members, and students.
