HUTECH exchanges best practices in sustainable higher education development with UEH

Sustainable university models, green transformation, and the application of technology in university governance were among the key topics discussed during a meeting between Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) on July 30 as part of the Green Visit 2026 program.

Opening the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thuy Anh, Rector of the UEH College of Technology and Design and Head of the UEH Wellbeing Flourishing University Project, shared that Green Visit serves not only as an opportunity for universities to exchange experiences and showcase effective practices, but also as a platform to strengthen connections among higher education institutions with shared development goals. She also introduced UEH's journey toward becoming a multidisciplinary and sustainable university, as well as its vision of fostering a flourishing university environment.

The program continued with a presentation by Dr. Le Thi Hanh An, Deputy Head of the UEH Department of Communications and Partnership Development, Deputy Head of the UEH Sustainable Innovation and Co-Creation Office (UEH CoLab), and Manager of the UEH Green Campus Project. She highlighted UEH's five-year journey in implementing its sustainable development strategy. At UEH, the Sustainable Development Goals have been integrated into teaching, research, governance, operations, and community engagement. She also introduced the experience gained through the UEH Green Campus Project, along with technology driven and digital transformation solutions applied in university management.

Representing HUTECH, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President, expressed her interest in UEH's sustainable development initiatives and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between the two universities. She expressed her hope that both institutions would continue to exchange experiences, foster closer partnerships, and work together with other higher education institutions to promote green values and contribute to the sustainable development of the higher education sector.

In addition to the presentations, delegates from participating universities discussed sustainable university models, green transformation, innovation, and the social responsibility of higher education institutions. The practical experiences shared by each institution provided valuable perspectives and laid the groundwork for future collaboration and stronger partnerships.

For HUTECH, the meeting offered a valuable opportunity to explore sustainable development models in higher education while expanding connections with institutions that share similar aspirations. The discussions will serve as an important reference as the University continues to implement its Sustainability Development Policy 2026–2030 and initiatives aligned with the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the aim of creating an innovative, socially responsible educational environment that delivers positive impact for the community.
