Representing the Faculty of Korean Studies, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) made its mark at the KF Friends Networking 2026 International Conference with practical perspectives on innovating Korean Language training by aligning learning outcomes with social needs. Serving as keynote speakers and chairing a scientific subcommittee, HUTECH delegates shared their experiences in outcome-based education.
At the conference, Dr. Bui Phan Anh Thu, Dean of the Faculty of Korean Studies, and Ms. Tran Le Thuy Van, Head of the Korean Language Department, delivered a presentation titled “Connecting Social Needs with Learning Outcomes of the Korean Language Program at HUTECH.” The report introduced an integrated learning ecosystem model combining KF Global e-School, HUTECH’s LMS system, digital resources, and international academic activities, thereby translating program outcomes into practical competencies for students.

Drawing from the university’s experience, the blended model of in-person and online learning, together with activities such as fellowship programs, writing contests, poster design, and video creation in Korean, has helped students develop professional language skills, digital literacy, self-learning capacity, and international integration. The presentation also emphasized the importance of intercultural communication and technology application in enhancing students’ adaptability in modern learning and working environments.
In addition to presenting, Dr. Bui Phan Anh Thu was invited by the organizers to chair a scientific subcommittee, leading discussions on curriculum innovation, teaching methods, Vietnamese–Korean machine translation, and technology applications in Korean Language education. This role highlighted the academic credibility and networking capacity of HUTECH’s representatives, affirming the university’s proactive participation in research, exchange, and quality enhancement in Korean Studies education.

The KF Friends Networking 2026 International Conference took place on August 1 in Da Nang, gathering representatives from the Korea Foundation (KF), the Korean Research Association in Vietnam (KRAV), and nearly 40 institutions offering Korean Language and Korean Studies programs nationwide.

As an annual academic forum of the KF Friends network, the conference provided opportunities for institutions to strengthen connections, share experiences, and foster cooperation in Korean Studies in Vietnam. Building on the outcomes of the 2025 conference hosted by HUTECH, this year’s program featured in-depth exchanges on curriculum innovation, teaching methods, and solutions to improve educational quality in the context of digital transformation and global integration.
