HUTECH and CNU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2022. This meeting marked an important reconnection between the two sides, especially as HUTECH has recently established its School of Medicine and Health Sciences. It also laid the foundation for expanding cooperation beyond Pharmacy to the entire field of Medicine and Health Sciences, aiming toward international study programs and more advanced applied research.

At the meeting, HUTECH representatives introduced the education and research orientation of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and reviewed past collaborative activities. Prof. Xiaodong Feng shared about CNU’s education system, the strengths of its College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and ongoing research activities in pharmacy and health sciences. He praised HUTECH’s development direction and expressed hope for more substantial collaborative programs in the near future.

Based on shared orientations and academic strengths, the two sides discussed specific cooperation opportunities. A highlight was the potential to implement transfer and joint programs for pharmacists, creating opportunities for HUTECH students to continue their studies at California Northstate University along a suitable pathway and earn the PharmD degree following U.S. educational standards.

In parallel, HUTECH and CNU explored the possibility of organizing undergraduate and graduate student exchange programs, increasing faculty and scholar exchanges, and promoting academic interaction between the two universities. These activities would give students access to an international learning environment, while faculty members could share expertise and expand academic networks.

In research, the two sides aim to carry out joint scientific projects, co-supervise research, and develop applied projects in medicine and healthcare. This would connect the academic strengths of both universities and promote research directions aligned with real-world healthcare needs.
